What an awe inspiring event! On a cold Friday night, all cozied up inside Eat My Words Bookstore, over 25 people gathered for the Northeast Story Slam. Six people told stories from the theme "unlikely love" and four people brought in old love letters to read. It was the perfect combination of comedy, heartbreak, and inspiration. The next slam will take place on or around Easter and the theme is "resurrection" (zombie stories encouraged).
On New Years Eve, I held a story slam at Aaron Neumann's studio....it was a huge success! We had a dozen readers telling true stories from their lives, each under 8 minutes. There was such a wide variety of content; from fireworks in Wisconsin to the death of a father to dominatrices in Paris to a story from the dog's perspective. Thanks to the readers....and to all who came out!
